The Diary of Bodily Experiences is a visual narrative that delves into the emotions of an immigrant and refugee, navigating life in the aftermath of a full-scale invasion in Ukraine.

 

This story about my interstate chronicles a new everyday life after fleeing my homeland. The overwhelming feeling of disconnection from my past and the constant uncertainty of the future imprisoned me in the present, unable to look beyond today. A sense of apathy, coupled with the fear of the unknown and the profound grief over the tragic events unfolding in my country, left me in a state ofsuspended frozen life. The first year of my new reality abroad was markedby the constant travel,an arduous quest to rediscover my identity, and deep contemplation of theharrowing atrocities that continuedto afflict my homeland. These experiences triggered a myriad of emotions, each of which found expression in still life and self-portraits.
